How to bookmark a web site

What is bookmarking?
Bookmarking a website serves the same purpose as bookmarking a page in a book, just think of the whole Internet as your book. All Web browsers will have some mechanism for storing a list of your favorite and most commonly visited websites. The purpose is to provide you quick and easy access to them in the future.
How to bookmark a website:
The process is relatively the same for all web browsers. At the top of your window you will see a menu option either titled "Favorites" or "Bookmarks". Click on this menu and you will be presented with a drop down list with one of the following two options: "Add to Favorites" or "Bookmark this Page". Selecting this option will present you with an "Add Favorite" or "Add Bookmark" window. You can keep the default name or give the bookmark a name of your choice, whichever will be easier for you to remember what the site is about. Press ok and you just bookmarked a website.
You may have noticed another button on the bookmark window that allows you to add the bookmark to a specific folder. This option can help you keep your bookmarks organized into folders for easier access as your list grows.
SHORTCUT: <ctrl-d> Pressing the 'ctrl' and 'd' keys simultaneously will either bring up the "Add Bookmarks" window allowing you to change the name and choose the folder for you shortcut or simple add the shortcut to your list using the default name.
How do I find a bookmarked website?
Click the same menu at the top of your screen that you use to bookmark the site (Favorites or Bookmarks). In the drop down list you will see your bookmarks and/or folders containing bookmarks.
Website bookmarking services?
Bookmark service websites like del.icio.us and Markaboo allow you to store your bookmarks online and access them from any computer connected to the Internet. They allow you to tag each of your links with key words so they easy to find in the future. Using the keywords you apply, you can also discover new websites by viewing bookmarks tagged with the same keywords by other users. These services can prove invaluable when your away from home and you need the information you found on a website a while back but can't remember the address. Just log into the bookmarking website and select the keyword that will bring the bookmark to you.
