"Hobbies"

Mountain Biking

Shortly after moving to Virginia Scott met a few guys involved with mountain biking. After hearing about all the trails in the area he bought a Orange and Metallic Charcoal 2005 Trek 4300 Mountain Bike. Mountain biking quickly became his preferred way to enjoy the outdoors. Rides range from 20 mile hard-packed dirt paths to 5 mile narrow hiking trails with hills, rocks, trees, logs, mud and plenty of deer.

Hiking

Scott loves to get out and hike the local trails throughout Northern Virginia. The fresh air, wild animals, colorful flowers, interesting insects, flowing water and the occasional waterfall make for a perfect getaway from life in the busy suburbs of Washington DC.

Photography

With a passion for close-ups and eye for great photos, you won't find Scott on the trails biking or hiking without his digital camera. Whether its a simple 2 MP Kodak from 2002 or a 5 MP, 10x HP from 2005, a great photo isn't far away. A Cannon Digital Rebel XT or XTi probably isn't far off as he craves more manual features. A collection of his photos can be found here: Scott's Photographs

Web Design

Scott began dabbling in Web design about the Summer of 2001. The first website was created with Front page as a way to provide his friends access to all of the photos taken while they were all hanging out. As time went on the site quickly became to large to host of the free space provided by Comcast and Scott purchased a hosting plan through www.1and1.com. Gradually as time went on the site began to grow and led to the creation of this site, ComputersConfuseMe.com. Building this site and reading a few books have given me strong knowledge in HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and Ajax. If you're interested in the books I've read here they are:
